We found that AVPlayer might not display video properly in some cases at iOS 4.3
This version has been submitted to Apple for review a few days ago, please be patient if you've already updated to iOS 4.3.
iOS 4.3 patch
- Fixed that view disappeared by random.
- Fixed that video doesn't play properly after playing QuickTime Formats.
Minor changes
- Removed changing system volume when entered background.
- Fixed a bug that passcode set to 0000 after installation.
- Added Polish and Russian languages.
- Fixed watched movie display.
- Added 2.54:1 Aspect Ratio.

I am encoding my video as iPad compatible format and using .ass files as my subtitles. However, the subtitles are disappearing very quickly in some parts.
I really like AVPlayerHD, but I have two requests/suggestions for improvement:
1. Stronger password security than the 4 digit password
2. On the WiFi transfer, allow the transfer of multiple files at once.

Edward: The subtitles may disappear very quickly if it has more than 2 subtitles at the same time. i'll improve this later. however it may take some time because .ass format is too complicated.
Mitchell: 1. let me consider stronger password, however it may make users get confused when avplayer update.
2. We are adding FTP feature for multiple file transfer in the WIFI transfer section.
Actually, FTP server was included in AVPlayer1.31. It is not official feature because this version was urgent patch and there are some limitation, however you can try with ftp clients such as fileZilla.
FTP port is "2121" and it support only 1 connection.

I am hoping to project the movie out onto my TV.
VGA adapter works well with AVPlayer on iPhone4,iPodTouch4 and iPad.
However, IPhone3gs doesn't support TV-out.

Does AVPlayer support more than 2 audio channels? I have an mp4 that plays the video just fine, smooth as butter, but only plays very short blips of the audio track every 3 seconds or so. Mediainfo for the audio:

Support for video on external SD card on Camera kit would be GREAT!! Please do so if possible.
gimpbully:It only supports 2 channels audio when play mp4 with H/W decoding. in this case, please turn off the H/W decoding and try again.

Does AVplayer not support album art or am I doing something wrong. When I play the files in iFile the album art displays, so I believe that it's embedded.
Also, I would really like to use this as a ipod software replacement, so would it be possible to add an option to start up the software in the media explorer view, that would speed up using the software.
The controls don't seem to be able to disappear when tapping when playing music, is there an option for that?
Lastly, it would also be pretty nice if you could implement a thumbnail view for the media explorer.
I am looking forward to the growth of this program.

ios4.3 업데이트로 airplay 기능은 꼭 넣어주셔야 될 것 같습니다. air video는 발빠르게 업데이트를 했더군요.
airplay기능의 유무에 따라 동영상 플레이어의 활용도는 엄청난 차이가 있을 것 같습니다.

Used to work perfectly. However, after updating to iOS4.3, Wi-fi data tranferring does not work anymore. please check this problem.
I've also tried OPlayer, the RMVB playback is faster than AVPlayer. So I believe there is still room to improve. Anyway, I am in general happy with it. Keep up the good work.
백업할때 컴퓨터에 따로 저장안되게 할순 없는건가요? 20기가 정도의 동영상을 넣었더니.. 하드압박이 심하네요~ 똑같은 동영상이 하드에 2개씩 존재한다는 자체도 매우 비합리적으로 느껴지구요~ 애플에서 풀어야 할 숙제인가요? 백업할때 해당 어플(avplayer)에 속한 파일들은 백업 안되엇으믄 좋겟어요.. 어플자체적으로 그런걸 켜고 끄는게 가능할수 있다면 꼭좀 만들어주세요 ㅠㅠ
the AVplayer doesnt work on my 3GS, i'm still running ios4.0.1 on my 3GS, everytime I try to open the AVplayer, it keeps jump back to the homepage. Anyone help??

Also, mkv files cannot be open in email attachments or other software that stores files, please support that. Lastly, I found integrated subtitles in mkv files don't display normally. They are sometimes either contains messy codes or just don't display, please look at it. Thanks again for this awesome app!
한 번에 나오는 자막의 글자수가 많을 때 ...으로 생략되어 짤려버리더군요.
덕분에 자막이 이상한건가 해서 다른 자막으로 교체하기를 수십번...
자막의 폰트 크기를 줄이니까 다 표시되긴 하지만, 가독성이 떨어지는 문제가 있습니다.
pc의 영상 플레이어처럼 글자수가 많으면 많은대로 화면에 다 표시해줄 수는 없을까요?

친구에게 AVPlayer를 선물했는데, 잘 쓰고 있다가 이번에 iOS 4.3.1로 업데이트를 했다합니다.(iPad2 사용자)
문제는 업데이트 후에 플레이어의 Media Explorer를 누르면 홈화면으로 튕긴다 합니다.
다른 프로그램은 제대로 작동한다 하는데, 이게 플레이어의 문제인지 아닌지가 확실히 모르겠네요.
확인 부탁드리겠습니다.
Hi, just bought Ipad2 and installed AvplayerHD. Mp4 and AVI files with resolutions 720xsmth are played well. With HD files 1200 in mkv format the video does not go smoothly. Why is that? What to do? Movies in a good quality are VERY often in mkv format. Please help!

인범님:불편을 드려 죄송합니다. 저도 이번에 개발기기들 모두 업그레이드 하였지만, media explorer를 눌렀을때 종료되는 현상은 없었는데요, 직접 확인하지는 못했지만, 동영상 헤더가 깨지거나 잘못된 경우에는 파일을 읽어서 처리하는 도중에 문제가 발생할 가능성은 있어 보입니다. 아이튠즈를 이용하셔서 avplayer의 다큐먼트 폴더에 최근에 추가하신 파일을 del키로 지워보시면 좋겠습니다.

I want to purchase AVPlayer, and I've an Ipod touch 3rd generation and m able 2 use TV out for this IPOD 3rd generation for default video player of apple IOS.
You commented that IPHONE 3GS doesnt support TV out, so we cant use AVPlayer for that.
But my IPOD touch 3rd gen supports TV out, so can i use AV Player for TV Out with my 3rd gen IPOD touch.

However, IPhone3gs doesn't support TV-out.

다른 포맷은 재생이 잘 되는데, ASF 경우에는 아예 재생이 안 됩니다. 지난 달에도 문의 남겼는데, 답변 안해 주시더니 삭제되었네요 -_-+ 그리고 WMV 경우에는 좌우 밀기 기능이 작동하지 않아서 파일 통째로 또는 7분 이상씩 이동해 버리는 문제가 있습니다. PC에서는 모두 정상 작동하는 파일이고요. 확인 및 답변 부탁 드립니다. 이 두가지만 개선된다면 짬짬이 어학공부하는 직장인에게 최고의 앱입니다.

Gaurav:Unfortunately, Tv-out on the iPod3 and iPhone 3gs is only available when play with integrated video player, such as quicktime, youtube. It seemded that Apple only provide APIs for external screen to iPhone 4 or higher.

-ASF에 대하여, 모든 파일이 재생이 안되는 것은 아니구요, 주로 화면 캡쳐와 관련된 코덱,MS의 Screen Encoder나 TechSmith의 Screen Encoder 로 비디오가 압축된 경우에는 iOS에서 지원할 방법이 여의치 않습니다.
-탐색이 안되는 경우는 파일이 잘려 탐색정보의 일부가 날아갔거나, 키프레임의 탐색정보가 없는 경우, 또는 AVPlayer에서 인식하지 못하는 형태인 경우입니다. 탐색정보를 다시 만들어내면 되는데 아이폰에서는 다소 까다로운 부분이 있습니다.
Евгений : You can switch the audio tracks with avplayer.
1.please tap spanner icon at the top of the right in the Media Explorer.
2.tap ">" at the video file to choose audio track.
3.tap spanner icon at the audio info in the file detail view and select audio stream.
please refer to the Online help in the Settings.

Just got the app. Vids playing ok. Got a question about the password. I got this app because it states password for folders. But it seems that there is only one password for all the folders. Is it possible to use different password for different folders? If it is possible then perhaps i am not using it rite.
튕깁니다! ㅠㅠ 미디어 익스플로어만 들어가면 튕깁니다.
처음엔 용량이 큰 파일을 넣은건가 싶어서 다 삭제했더니 아무것도 없는 상태에서는 들어가지더라구요.
그 후로 파일 하나만 넣었는데도 튕기구요.
결국 지우고 다시 깔았는데 그래도 튕깁니다.
백그라운드에 실행되고있는 모든 어플을 종료했는데도 튕깁니다.
아이패드르 껐다 켜도 튕깁니다.
언제쯤 쓸 수 있을까요?

Hi, I just got AVPlayerHD for my iPad 2 and am very impressed with the performance, especially since learning that it isn't yet optimized to work with my new device!
The only problem I have is getting files onto the app. I have a NAS, and if I want to watch something off it, I have to use a network browsing app, find the file, download it, and then transfer it to AVPlayer. Could you please add the ability to browse smb shares in a future version?
Hi, thanks for bringing us this wonderful app. I just found AVplayer does allow deleting the password protected directory without asking for password. I feel like this is a bug rather than a security feature. Please look into this.

QuickTime formats (such as mov,mp4,mov) will support AirPlay to the next update.
AVPlayer supports ISO-8859-6 for arabic,but it doesn't yet suppot RTL ( right to left ).

Using password is a good way to protect privacy in particular for video content which is personal.
Password can also prevent any accidentally delete of files that stored under password protected folders.
To make AVplayer to perfection, may I suggest NOT allowing user to delete folders (if password is set 'on' ) if users don't enter the correct password?

Hi there. I am an apple tv user and I'm trying to send videos to my tv from my iphone4 via apple tv (like you can with videos downloaded off of iTunes). I see that the functionality to do this is already included in av player but only the audio comes out on the tv. No video! M:AVPlayer doesn't support FLAC files perfectly at the moment. some of files may work, but I can't guarantee FLAC yet.
Hello! I have three things to ask of you in future updates:
* ASS subtitle format support. this is critical for me if I want to watch videos without conversion.
* Ability to make screenshots: simply save the current video frame to the photo roll without the black borders.
* Please fix the wifi transfer for iOS 4.3 or add FTP!
I love the gesture system and the ability to control playback speed!
Subtitles in mkv files do not load on iPad 2. Dual audio seerms to work though. Please fix the subtitls!
@_L: For me mkv subtitles load partially, half the lines aren't displayed.
2 Features would be nice.
1. A Thumbnail like VLC, my 3 year old Son, can play his Movies in VLC but sadly not in AVPLayer HD, because he dont know witch movie are belongs to him.
2. A Sleeptimer for iPad, like every TV has.
Great software! I didnt knew that iPad can play films so smoothly ;)
However, I see that subtitle handling could be improved significantly. Namely, I see at least 2 problems:
- some .txt files are not displayed at all (I'm watching Supernatural 6 season with polish subtitles loaded through napiprojekt.pl, some of the txt files are not recognized, even if they are good)
- there is a problem with synchronization of subtiles. Most files do play correctly, but some files are waay too fast. I've found that if I set the subtitle speed to 0.587, they are played correctly. But guess what, this setting is not stored, and I cant enter the speed manually. This means about 400+ clicks on '-' button for each movie!

i was wondering if you could add a feature that not only would let you zoom in on a video but also let you zoom out this would be useful for people like me who dont use official AV cables, these cables have a tendency to chop off about 1.5 inches of video on all sides which also chops off the subtitles in imbeded sub videos.
it would be nice if this feature was implemented in a way that lets you hold down on the display ratio button to bring up a zoom bar in which a slider would already be set halfway enabling the user to move it one way to zoom in and the other way to zoom out
(tapping on the display button would still let you change the display ratio)
also it would be nice for the current display ratio button and the suggested feature to transfer through av cables to an external display (like in buzz player)
the only other issues i have run into while using buzz player are .mkv subtitle issues as others have said (I look forward to this fix) and on my verison iphone 4 unjailbroken the rename file button does not work

Hi, I'm playing some videos on my new iPad 2 and all videos have syncing problems. The audio and the video doesn't match at all.
If you scroll, it get even worst.
I'm playing SD videos (544x304), mpeg4 vídeo and mp3 audio. With no subtitles.
I like the app but i cannot watch The Sopranos 2nd seasson :)

I found txt subtitls has two format, one is time based and the other is frame based. but I haven't figured out the frame based subtitles, so please convert it to srt by other tools, such as subtitle workshop. btw It would be helpful if you send unrecognized txt subtitles to support@eplayworks.com

I bought both iPhone and iPad version and I like them very much. But I'm using a bluetooth headset, and the sound is late compared to the image. I don't have this problem with VLC for iPhone, so I hope you can fix it in AVPlayer!

AVPLayer HD is doing a fantastic job playing 720p mkv files, however I have a problem...
I've lost the file associations between .mkv files and AVPlayer. It will play files if I add them directly, but I can't open files in Atomic Web or FileBrowser.
Do you know how to restore the association?

요즘들어 다운받은 영상들이 자꾸 튕김니다.
아무래도 다운받은 영상들 포맷 문제인것같은데
어떤영상이 안튕기는지 몰라서 한번 avplay 에 넣으려면
같은 프로그램 다운을 5개씩 받아서 안튕기는 파일을
넣은적도 있습니다. 아무래도 개발자님이
해결해주셔야할 문제인것같습니다.
그럼 수고하세요 ~돈주고 산 어플인데 자꾸 튕기니
짜증 납니다.

Laurent:Thanks for your suggestion. It might delay audio about 500 ms when using bluetooth headset due to encoding time. I will fix this issue or add a function to set audio or video deley option. but the next update has alredy submitted, so it will be applied next of the next update.

성찬님, 일단 아이튠즈에서 AVPlayer의 Document의 최상의 폴더에 있는 영상만 하드로 복사하시고, 그 중에 마지막으로 추가하신 파일을 DEL키를 이용하여 삭제하여 보시면 좋겠습니다. (또한 홈키를 두번 누르셔서 AVPlayer를 완전히 종료하신후, ITunes로 __InternalData__도 삭제하여 주세요). 혹시 문제가 되는 파일을 발견하시면 mjlee1223@naver.com으로 보내주시길 부탁드립니다.
와이파이 트랜스퍼에서 연결이 되었다가 안되었다가 합니다.
일단 연결되면 다른건 문제 없는데 이게 연결이 쉽지가 않네요.
10번중 1번 연결되고 나머지는 페이질를 찾을수 없다고 하는데 이유좀 알수 있을까요?

Can you have option for different password for different folders?
It's a great app overall, very happy with the video playback capability and the price.
However, all the movies added will be counted as part of the app's data by iTunes auto backup. I really can't afford the long backup time and all the wasted hard drive spaces.
Any chance you can work out a solution? It'll be perfect if it can work somewhat like iBook.
can you add the ability to use the play/pause button on the iphone headphones?

air box라는 앱을 받았거든요
근데 컴터에 있는 파일을 아이폰으로 전송받은담에
영상은 avplayer로 옮길수가있는데 자막은 안되더라구요
자막은 옮겨지질 않아서 참 아쉬운데 이 사항은 avplayer에다가 말해야한다고 하길래 ^^;; ㅋㅋ
원래 안되는건가요??^^;;
아님 제가 못하는건지 궁금해서요 ㅋㅋㅋ
자막만 옮겨지면 잘될텐데
밖에서도 심심할때 해외영상물들을 잘 볼수있을텐데

As for the subtitle speed & tons of clicks required to get correct speed:
Of course best way would be to autodetect speed correctly. But as you said, sometimes it is very hard (maybe even impossible). What about getting virtual keyboard to enter speed manually? Or at least +1/+10/+100 buttons along with -1/-10/-100?
I'll get some subtitles with this problem and will send to email you mentioned along with some info about which movie they match.
